Hey Dr. Martin!!!

I hope that you are well. I wanted you to know I just passed my dissertation defense this morning with flying colors! I'm so excited. 

     I wanted to share with you my acknowledgment page. As I came to a finish in my writing and reflected back on this long journey, I realized that you really hold a special place in my heart. I don't think I've ever told you how much you inspired me as a 18 year old freshman leaving home for the first time and being so terrified of being away from my family. Your presence meant a lot to me. To have a loving spirit who was not only a woman of color but a DOCTOR was monumental in helping me not only define future goals for myself, but in reminding me that I can be anything I wanted to be. Thank you.
